Wealth Creation Officers (Group Lending)

Role summary: 

We are looking for suitable and qualified individuals to fill the positions of Wealth Creation Officers (Group Lending) in our various branches. The officers will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

Specific responsibilities: 
  • Consistently grow the company’s product portfolio by marketing to individuals and groups.
  • Develop plans for growth of the product and identify suitable clients.
  • Conduct client education on the new products features and requirements
  • Conduct loan appraisals and make recommendations to the branch credit committee
  • Visit client business premises from time to time during loan assessment and monitoring to ensure the quality of the loan is maintained at the expected level
  • Participate in the setting of personal product targets and work toward meeting the same
Qualifications, skills and experience: 
  • Diploma in business related discipline from a recognized college.
  • A business related degree will be an added advantage
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in Group Lending from Microfinance Bank.

Direct Sales Agents(S)

In order to strengthen our sales team and in line with the Business Strategy, we are looking for qualified and trainable candidates to fill the position of Direct Sales Agent (s) at our various Branches both within Nairobi and outside Nairobi.

Position:  Direct Sales Agents

Reporting to the Relationship Officer. The position holder’s key role is acquisition of new business at the same time ensuring quality customer service.

The key roles will include;

  • Deliver set Sales Targets in Loan disbursements and Quality Loan Book.
  • Provide Excellent Customer service at all times.
  • Actively participate in marketing campaigns to ensure clients are well informed of the product portfolio.
  • Seek customer feedback on products and services offered by the organization.
  • Provide daily Sales Reports.
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of a Diploma preferably in Sales & Marketing. A Degree is an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in direct sales within banking, MFI, Insurance and related industries will be a definite advantage.

Internship Opportunities

Every four months, Musoni Kenya takes on a new team of 3-4 interns to stay for 3 month’s period starting January, April, July, and September. This position is for five days a week and can work with you and your schedule if this position could be the right fit for you.

Musoni Kenya is one of the most innovative microfinance institutions, having replaced cash with M-PESA for loan payments and repayments, tablets to replace paperwork for loan applications and processing, and using mobile phone data to create credit profiles for the unbanked.  We always have interesting data analytic and process improvement projects in hand.

In response to customer demands and in line with our growth, we are looking for suitable and qualified individuals to fill the positions of Wealth Creation Officers (Individual Lending) in our various branches. The position will directly report to the Branch Manager.

Job responsibilities: 
  • Develop new business opportunities by proactively marketing for individual loan products to suitable potential clients.
  • Interview, visit, analyze and evaluate borrowers and potential borrowers with emphasis on risks and particular focus on credit risk.
  • Prepare and make appropriate credit recommendations to the branch credit committee
  • Work closely with the entire branch staff to maintain a high degree of customer service levels and focus
  • Proactive loan portfolio monitoring and management
  • Preparation of performance reports, work plans and activity reports

Chief Finance Officer

We are looking for a Chief Finance Officer to drive our finance function. The Chief Finance Officer will manage all accounting and financial activities of the institution. He/she will also provide direction on all strategic and tactical matters related to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and the securing of new funding. As a key member of Senior Management, the Chief Finance Officer will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer : –

Specific responsibilities:
  • Financial planning, budgeting, control & reporting.
  • Plan and direct the organization’s financial activities to achieve agreed targets and standards for financial performance.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization.
  • Ensure a balance between data protection and accessibility by integrating and embedding cyber security in key decision making processes.

Qualifications, skills and experience:
  • Bachelor Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Studies or related field. Post graduate degree is desirous.
  • CPA (K) holder.
  • 5 – 8 years of accounting and finance experience in banking/microfinance industry.
  • Experience using multiple accounting systems including ACCPAC preferred.
  • Experience using financial report writer tools beneficial.
  • Qualifications in financial modelling, and investment banking are an added advantage.

Digital Financial Services (DFS) Manager

Role summary:

The Digital Financial Services Manager will focus on using mobile money, electronic payments and other forms of technology to promote our financial services within Musoni. The DFS manager will work directly with function and project teams to successfully implement and launch digital financial services through innovative distribution channels. The role requires strong project management skills to plan, pilot, implement and launch according to budget, resources and timeline. The role also requires extensive technical skills and experience to successfully operate innovative distribution channels and collaborate with MNOs, Fintech sector, Big data providers and other institutions within the digital finance sector.

Specific responsibilities:
  • Define and conduct the digital transformation of our financial services offerings
  • Oversee the design and implementation of all projects under the DFS portfolio
  • Develop and execute strategies for digital financial services
  • Lead the project team to develop alternative channels for Musoni to deliver digital financial services at scale.
  • This will involve partnership development, contract writing, project road mapping, dedicating appropriate resources, monitoring and evaluation, and assessing, managing and resolving risks and issues related to DFS projects
  • Ensure that the technical integration and developments are aligned with the business requirements and results in a seamless customer digital/mobile interface and user friendly digital/mobile operations.
  • Works closely with the MNOs and other technology partners to identify and rectify issues and further improvements
  • Manage the project team for piloting and implementing digital products and services and ensures ongoing improvement based on customer-client research
  • Provide implementing support to train and direct the operations teams to deliver on providing digital financial services
  • Ensure timely reporting of the DFS portfolio indicators and work towards improving month on month usage of Mobile Money
  • Responsible for managing digital financial services relationships with all service providers and stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to risk and compliance for digital channels
Qualifications, skills and experience:
  • A University Degree in a Business, IT or related field
  • At least five years of experience in financial services, telecom, mobile money, electronic payments, and/or agency banking within MNOs, private financial institutions, consulting firms, or a combination of these
  • At least three years in a management position supervising a DFS team
  • Knowledge of related regulations, as well as the ability and confidence to engage across various Government agencies and the private sector
  • A strategic thinker with project management experience, strong oral and written communication and presentation skills and excellent organizational abilities
  • Ability to lead assignments and teams and work with minimal supervision
  • A strong field orientation and proven inter personal skills

Communication Specialist

Duration and contract information:

This is a short-term assignment for up to 6 months with a possibility of further extensions. There shall be no expectation of contract change or renewal at the end of this assignment. Purpose of the Post:

The main purpose of this role is to set up a communication function at Musoni. The contractor will create a communication strategy and manage all internal and external communication needs at Musoni: –

Key responsibilities:
  • Design, formulate and lead the development of the communications strategy for internal and external stakeholders;
  •     Defining and executing Musoni’s social media strategy and creatively apply it to target among others, an agricultural audience
  •      Setting up a short-long plan for content development through blogs and other relevant web channels
  • Develop a strong corporate and brand identity
  • Enhance Musoni’s media and online presence and information dissemination by upgrading the quality and use of existing media/information platforms (webpage, Facebook, twitter, YouTube, press releases, articles, video documentaries, etc.)
  • Advise on and support the organization of publicity/outreach for various projects, knowledge sharing events and promotional opportunities
  • Strengthening the Musoni brand through adoption of various effective communication strategies
  • Improving product and brand visibility locally, regionally and internationally

  • Provide technical support for the website re-design project, refine the architecture and design following input from staff

  • An updated online presence; Facebook, twitter, YouTube, Musoni blog
  • Up-skilled resource at Musoni to manage communications moving forward

Minimum Qualifications:

The Digital UX Designer has a passion for developing and executing elegant and effective web and mobile solutions. S/he collaborates with colleagues to execute the design and development of interactive experiences for the digital space. S/he has a deep understanding of best practices for modern mobile and web design, including navigation, site structure, content hierarchy, user interface, user experience, usability, and accessibility. As a UX designer for our mobile and digital applications you’ll move the product design from concept, to wireframes and workflows, to hi-fidelity prototypes and finally customer ready solutions.

Specific responsibilities:
  • Understand complex product requirements and translate them into intuitive user flows and interfaces
  • Work closely with product development team to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges that that meet users’ needs with maximum usability
  • Demonstrate an ability to clearly understand an end user’s perspective from user research, and provide design recommendations accordingly, creating task flows, navigation patterns, information architecture, concept diagrams, user journeys, and any other design artefacts
