Wealth Creation Officers (Group Lending)

Role summary: 

We are looking for suitable and qualified individuals to fill the positions of Wealth Creation Officers (Group Lending) in our various branches. The officers will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

Specific responsibilities: 
  • Consistently grow the company’s product portfolio by marketing to individuals and groups.
  • Develop plans for growth of the product and identify suitable clients.
  • Conduct client education on the new products features and requirements
  • Conduct loan appraisals and make recommendations to the branch credit committee
  • Visit client business premises from time to time during loan assessment and monitoring to ensure the quality of the loan is maintained at the expected level
  • Participate in the setting of personal product targets and work toward meeting the same
Qualifications, skills and experience: 
  • Diploma in business related discipline from a recognized college.
  • A business related degree will be an added advantage
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in Group Lending from Microfinance Bank.

Direct Sales Agents(S)

Finance Officer

We are looking for a suitable and qualified individual to fill the position of a Finance Officer in our Finance and Admin Department based at the Head Office. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Finance Officer will be expected to: –

The key roles will include;

  • Prepare Bank Reconciliations on a timely basis.
  • Minimize exposure of tax penalties to the company through preparation of Tax
  • Calculations and getting them audited through Tax Auditors.
  • Collect and post withholding tax certificates against suppliers account.
  • Update of cashbook on a daily basis.
  • Assist in providing information and records to auditors.
  • Ensure that approved cash expenditure payments are processed on a timely basis.

The day-to-day Role;

  • Creating and implementing a strategy for the deployment of information security technologies
  • Performing IT security risk assessments and reporting on ways to minimize threats

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Internship Opportunities

Every four months, Musoni Kenya takes on a new team of 3-4 interns to stay for 3 month’s period starting January, April, July, and September. This position is for five days a week and can work with you and your schedule if this position could be the right fit for you.

Chief Risk Officer

The role will be responsible for creating, designing and implementing a risk function that comprises of Enterprise Risk Management, Credit Risk Management, Debt Recoveries, Legal and overall risk governance of the business. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board Risk Committee, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating, designing and implementing a risk function that supports the strategic goals of Musoni. H/She will effectively translate the risk appetite framework into informed decision-making practices that support Musoni’s unique business model and strategic plan. H/She will also be responsible for reviewing the new emerging risk that comes with all things digital in order to create confidence in Musoni’s product owners, digital channels and technology teams that ‘digital risk ’in its newest forms are fully understood and that digital risk policy is implemented in an agile, smart and efficient approach : –

Specific responsibilities:
  • Effectively lead the Credit Risk, Credit Analysis and Credit Recovery & Remedial teams
  • Develop Risk & Compliance strategies, policies, procedures and standards for the institution, and monitor to ensure adherence
  • Optimize the existing risk management system, regularly create and evaluate the institution’s risk control data model, using external, industry and internal data
  • Carry out periodic inspection of the internal policies procedures, processes and controls to determine their appropriateness, effectiveness and adequacy in risk mitigation
  • Establishment of fraud risk warning model and monitoring system, and quantitative analysis of risk data
  • Ensure integration of a social lens into risk management strategies and capacity building to better manage potential negative social impacts such as Reputational Risk, Mission Drift Risk, Client Vulnerability Risk and CSR Risk
  • Develop and maintain a Digital Crisis plan which addresses escalation issues and contingency planning, and address ownership areas during a cyber or digital crisis affecting data, fraud monetary loss, and other key issues
  • Engage relevant teams especially digital finance team to develop, maintain and enhance risk and compliance controls that support Digital business objectives and risk appetite, taking accountability for smooth engagement to enable delivery of the Digital products and channels
  • Maintain and or develop a subject matter expertise in the area of digital innovation and subsequent emerging risks including internet banking and mobile banking, contributing to knowledge share among all functions and influencing the strategy for risk management
  • Build and lead a highly collaborative and proactive risk function that is able to navigate the increasingly complex business and regulatory environment that the institution operates in
  • Actively participate in Risk, Assets and Liabilities Committee (RALCO) of the Board and provide critical input to help drive decision making on the optimal level of Risk Return trade-offs on transactions, products and business segments
  • Monitor and assess the adequacy of the Capital ensuring that risk exposure is maintained at prudent levels and consistent with available Capital. Carry out periodic stress tests on various parameters/variables to analyse the effect on the Institutions capital and liquidity
  • Create and manage a centralized Risk Management repository of all key risk documentation and support (e.g., SharePoint, shared drive, etc.)
  • Embedding a positive culture of confident and informed risk-taking through training, communication and promotion of the agreed risk framework
  • Coordinating and testing of the business continuity of Musoni Microfinance
  • Custodian and implementer of training programs on KYC and AML to staff
Qualifications:
  • University Graduate in Business, or finance related field
  • Professional qualification in the field of risk management is an added advantage
  • Other professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CISA is an added advantage.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of credit and other risks management at similar level in financial institutions
  • Demonstrated experience in Digital Financial Services system/product development is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of CBK guidelines, IFRS, the Banking Act, and other Statutes
  • Ability to both understand the detail of a digital solution from a risk perspective, as well as a strategic view on common risk themes (Fraud,

Digital Financial Services (DFS) Manager

Role summary:

The Digital Financial Services Manager will focus on using mobile money, electronic payments and other forms of technology to promote our financial services within Musoni. The DFS manager will work directly with function and project teams to successfully implement and launch digital financial services through innovative distribution channels. The role requires strong project management skills to plan, pilot, implement and launch according to budget, resources and timeline. The role also requires extensive technical skills and experience to successfully operate innovative distribution channels and collaborate with MNOs, Fintech sector, Big data providers and other institutions within the digital finance sector.

Specific responsibilities:
  • Define and conduct the digital transformation of our financial services offerings
  • Oversee the design and implementation of all projects under the DFS portfolio
  • Develop and execute strategies for digital financial services
  • Lead the project team to develop alternative channels for Musoni to deliver digital financial services at scale.
  • This will involve partnership development, contract writing, project road mapping, dedicating appropriate resources, monitoring and evaluation, and assessing, managing and resolving risks and issues related to DFS projects
  • Ensure that the technical integration and developments are aligned with the business requirements and results in a seamless customer digital/mobile interface and user friendly digital/mobile operations.
  • Works closely with the MNOs and other technology partners to identify and rectify issues and further improvements
  • Manage the project team for piloting and implementing digital products and services and ensures ongoing improvement based on customer-client research
  • Provide implementing support to train and direct the operations teams to deliver on providing digital financial services
  • Ensure timely reporting of the DFS portfolio indicators and work towards improving month on month usage of Mobile Money

Communication Specialist

Purpose of the Post:

The main purpose of this role is to set up a communication function at Musoni. The contractor will create a communication strategy and manage all internal and external communication needs at Musoni: –

Key responsibilities:
  • Design, formulate and lead the development of the communications strategy for internal and external stakeholders;
  •     Defining and executing Musoni’s social media strategy and creatively apply it to target among others, an agricultural audience
  •      Setting up a short-long plan for content development through blogs and other relevant web channels

Digital UX Designer

Role summary:

The Digital UX Designer has a passion for developing and executing elegant and effective web and mobile solutions. S/he collaborates with colleagues to execute the design and development of interactive experiences for the digital space. S/he has a deep understanding of best practices for modern mobile and web design, including navigation, site structure, content hierarchy, user interface, user experience, usability, and accessibility. As a UX designer for our mobile and digital applications you’ll move the product design from concept, to wireframes and workflows, to hi-fidelity prototypes and finally customer ready solutions.

Specific responsibilities:
  • Understand complex product requirements and translate them into intuitive user flows and interfaces
  • Work closely with product development team to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges that that meet users’ needs with maximum usability
  • Demonstrate an ability to clearly understand an end user’s perspective from user research, and provide design recommendations accordingly, creating task flows, navigation patterns, information architecture, concept diagrams, user journeys, and any other design artefacts
  • Create inspiring user-centred designs that take into consideration customer feedback and usability findings
  • Rapidly produce working prototypes to put the designs to the test
  • A continuing commitment to expanding your professional knowledge and staying current with relevant design and technology trends
Skills and Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Web Design or related field; advanced degree welcomed
  • At least 2 years’ experience in UX & Visual Design for Business or Enterprise applications, including designing for web and mobile
  • A strong portfolio featuring design work that showcases information architecture, interaction design, information design, visual design, and/or mobile design skills
  • An undeniable passion for creating great user interfaces that solve real user problems
  • Solid understanding of user-centred design principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly articulate design decisions with stakeholders and development teams
  • Solid experience designing for mobile applications with a focus on delivering engaging user experiences
  • Excellent knowledge of design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, etc. Ability to quickly create working prototypes in HTML or Axure is also highly desirable
