Wealth Creation Officers (Group Lending)

Role summary: 

We are looking for suitable and qualified individuals to fill the positions of Wealth Creation Officers (Group Lending) in our various branches. The officers will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

Specific responsibilities: 
  • Consistently grow the company’s product portfolio by marketing to individuals and groups.
  • Develop plans for growth of the product and identify suitable clients.
  • Conduct client education on the new products features and requirements
  • Conduct loan appraisals and make recommendations to the branch credit committee
  • Visit client business premises from time to time during loan assessment and monitoring to ensure the quality of the loan is maintained at the expected level
  • Participate in the setting of personal product targets and work toward meeting the same
Qualifications, skills and experience: 
  • Diploma in business related discipline from a recognized college.
  • A business related degree will be an added advantage
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in Group Lending from Microfinance Bank.
Desired competencies and personal attributes: 
  • Ability  to work with numbers, conduct analysis of information
  • Ability and willingness to follow up clients personally and with a keen eye on both financial data
  • Ability to make sound judgment and quick right decisions
  • Ability to build trust, value others, communicate effectively and drive execution
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to motivate others
  • Initiative, tact and maturity

Internship Opportunities

Every four months, Musoni Kenya takes on a new team of 3-4 interns to stay for 3 month’s period starting January, April, July, and September. This position is for five days a week and can work with you and your schedule if this position could be the right fit for you.

Musoni Kenya is one of the most innovative microfinance institutions, having replaced cash with M-PESA for loan payments and repayments, tablets to replace paperwork for loan applications and processing, and using mobile phone data to create credit profiles for the unbanked.  We always have interesting data analytic and process improvement projects in hand.

The Musoni Internship Program targets various areas of microfinance operations including but not limited to Credit Management, Project Management, IT, Marketing and Communications, Product Development, Development initiatives and Finance. The Intern should expect these areas to cover research, process improvement, data analysis, proposal writing, fundraising and problem solving.

WEALTH CREATION OFFICERS (INDIVIDUAL LENDING)

Role summary:

In response to customer demands and in line with our growth, we are looking for suitable and qualified individuals to fill the positions of Wealth Creation Officers (Individual Lending) in our various branches. The position will directly report to the Branch Manager.

Specific responsibilities: 
  • Develop new business opportunities by proactively marketing for individual loan products to suitable potential clients.
  • Interview, visit, analyze and evaluate borrowers and potential borrowers with emphasis on risks and particular focus on credit risk.
  • Prepare and make appropriate credit recommendations to the branch credit committee
  • Work closely with the entire branch staff to maintain a high degree of customer service levels and focus
  • Proactive loan portfolio monitoring and management
  • Preparation of performance reports, work plans and activity reports
  • Participate in setting up personal productivity targets and work towards achieving them
Qualifications, skills and experience: 
  • A College Diploma or University Degree preferably in business related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • At least 2 years demonstrable experience in Individual Lending from a Commercial Bank
  • Computer literate and proficient

Credit Admin Assistant

Organizational overview:

Role summary:

We are looking for a qualified and trainable candidate to fill the position of a Credit Admin Assistant at our Head Office. Reporting to the Credit Admin Manager, the CAA will be responsible for: –

Specific responsibilities: 
  • Loan review for completeness of the KYC requirements
  • Analysis of individual loan applications
  • Coordination of Head Office Credit committees and follow up on execution of approval terms and conditions
  • Co-ordinate with Finance to ensure timely RTGS disbursement of loans after completion of security perfection process
  • Provides leadership in security and collateral perfection and custodianship
  • Responsible for assessing individual loan requests and submitting to the credit committee for consideration
  • Ensure all individual loans applied, and approved are compliant to with the Credit policies and procedures
  • Ensures that customers have best experience in collateral perfection and retrieval
  • Analyze loan correction documentation for compliance and approving the same in the system
  • Execute joint registration for motor vehicle and executing charges on property
  • Facilitate capacity building on individual lending to the branch staff
  • Support the Credit Admin Manager on day to day operations of the Credit Admin Department.
Qualifications, skills and experience: 
  • The incumbent must be Holder of Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Accounting or equivalent. CPA or ACCA qualifications will be an added advantage
  • High computer skills with knowledge in core banking system
